How it all began.....
It all started during the lockdowns, a good friend told me that I should start classes with her to help boost my confidence.
Beforehand - I wouldn't even dance in a nightclub and didn't really have the enthusiasm!
The 5th of May 2022 quickly came around and I was reminded that the new classes were set to begin again that night, so I thought I'd at least give the first lesson a go with Love You Burlesque
Finesse of a brick
It was terrifying walking into the studio for the first time ever, but I was made to feel so welcome by everyone and my anxieties quickly melted away!
I always thought that I had the finesse of a brick and felt so clumsy dancing, but the ladies from the Basildon class kept telling me to loosen up, gave me advice with moving more fluidly and I just fell in love with Burlesque.
As it happened, that course was a Summer Cabaret Course - something I really didn't want to do. As the weeks went by, I started feeling more and more confident and thought, after some not so subtle persuasion that I would do the Cabaret. I was scared as hell, but I found that I just loved the exhilaration of being on stage - everyone was right, when you come off stage, you'll just want to get straight back on! The cheering from the audience just magnifies your confidence and you feed off that energy. It is just so addictive, you just want more and more!
Not long after performing at the Summer Cabaret, I had the chance to perform with Love You Burlesque at CozFest, a music festival in Colchester. This was the turning point - I found that I actually loved performing and wanted to take things further!.
I didn't have to wait long for the next opportunity to perform our next class routine at the Halloween Cabaret. There was no turning back, I was beginning to find that my normal Introverted quiet self was becoming and extrovert on stage, and she loves the attention!
My huge inspiration of all things Burlesque stems from the fabulously awesome Fey Au Lait. Her passion for teaching and mentoring has been truly awe inspiring , I am so honoured and proud to be able to call her my "Burlesque Mumma"
If it wasn't for everyone involved with Love You Burlesque, I wouldn't be creating this website now!
As soon as the Solo courses for One to One mentoring was offered, I jumped at the chance and already had my music and ideas for the routine planned out .
"Little Bird " came about with the increasing confidence I was gaining in real life and from performing, my inhibitions were melting away and my body confidence was quickly rising.
When I'm on stage, I feel like a completely different person, someone who loves to entertain and just laps up the attention, that person is Violette Hue.
As if there isn't enough to be getting one with through my solo career and making costumes and props, I am also proud to be a part of the Burlesque Troupe - Sweet FX , run by the amazing Fey au Lait
I can't express how much Love You Burlesque has changed my life!
My confidence has quickly grown from being terrified of performing on stage for the first time to wanting more and more!
Love you Burlesque is a fantastic place to start, if you want to come to class in a corset, frilly knickers and fishnets - that's awesome! if you're not ready and prefer to wear something more comfortable such as leggings and a T-shirt, that's amazing too, it's all about making you feel comfortable and building up your confidence at your own pace.
If and when you're ready to take the next step, the tutors will be there to offer advice and mentoring - there is no pressure and all classes are in a fun relaxed setting
